The most present instruments are of course the guitar and drums, with a few other instruments added in depending on the level. Jun Senoue, Crush 40, Hyper Potions, etc.Īdventure Asshole that I am, I figured it would be good to talk about my favorite type of music, the crunchy rock from the good Ol’ Adventure days. With twenty-one race tracks and a group of the series’ best musical artists, a single area can have a nice variety of different themes.
TEAM SONIC RACING SOUNDTRACK SERIES
With different level themes, tones, types of instruments and composition found in every game, the series has been pretty consistent with quality soundtracks, and Team Sonic Racing is no different. To me, variety is always one of the best things to look forward to when it comes to Sonic music. Seeing the gameplay in action, all the colorful levels, and the god tier music just made me happy that we were getting a new Sonic Racing game to keep the series busy, and I’m happy with what we got so far. My McPickle was especially tickled when I found out that there would be a remix of ‘You can do anything’ in the game, from Sonic CD, Aka: still the best 2D Sonic game not 3 & Knuckles. It wasn’t like Forces when leading up to release where my hype was constantly up and down, it was consistently good.Īs someone who is cynical about the series and thought that nothing other then the IDW comics would be good this year, that’s pretty impressive to make me go like that. I thought this would be another game in the series that’d I’d skip, but when the Sonic YouTube channel started releasing some tracks for the game, my hype jumped from ‘meh’ to ‘hey, maybe I will get this game’. Snobby jerk that I am, I wasn’t too keen on this game, as Forces had just left a bad taste in my mouth and I wasn’t really into racing games at the time. No talking about gameplay, no bitching about voice actors, just gonna talk about the music and why it’s so good. I suppose you could consider this blog a sequel to my SA2 and Unleashed musical blogs from January, but I really just wanted to talk about the soundtrack from this game because it’s just so much fun. Team Sonic Racing however provides a wonderful soundtrack, brining together some of the best musicians and composers the series has to offer to create tracks that are truly special and just plain awesome. I’m gonna be completely honest and say while I did enjoy Sonic Forces’ soundtrack quite a bit, mainly in the Avatar themes and the Episode Shadow themes, it mostly fell flat for me in the Sonic and Nostalgia Pandering Sonic levels, coming off as rather forgettable and just plain bad at points.
